A Splendid Rose Quartz & Gold Cane. France, circa 1820

The cylindrical Rose Quartz is 7 cm high and 1,5 cm in diameter. This hardstone is known for its varied pink shading and crystalline internal fissures. There is a 3 cm high, reticulated gold overlay, decorated with festoonery and scrolls, it has tiny French hallmarks. It is on top of a slender fully bark malacca shaft and finished with two fine gold eyelets and a bimetal ferule. The O.L. is 93 cm and without chips or cracks, the condition is perfect. It is a beautiful example of the type.

From the times of King Charles X of France, this jewel can be considered as a two hundred years old, mascot Cane.

This type of cane can be considered as a mascot cane, it has the power of bringing luck to its bearer. Rose Quartz is not popular as a gem, the mineral is often found too cloudy and not clear enough to be cut into a gem. This stone is good for dealing with issues on an emotional level while soothing negative influences. *Book of symbols

STATEMENT: The source of our goods has an impeccable provenance. All canes in the collection are as described. If the entire cane, handle and shaft are both original, the descriptive sentence calls it a cane. When just the handle is original, his description indicates that it is a cane handle and the handle is "mounted" on a specific shaft.

A great carved ivory cane, the elephant ivory handle is 6 cm high, 5,5 cm to the side and 5 cm wide. It depicts a nicely detailed composition of two hunter’s puppies with sulphur glass eyes, watching carefully its prey. There is a gilded collar with English hallmarks on top of a sound malacca shaft, it has a horn ferrule. The OL is 89 cm. The cylindrical silver handle is 10,5 cm high and 3 cm diameter, it is embossed and decorated with scrolls and a dragon as symbol of status. In this Cane the shaft is the core, it is Rosewood decorated with minuscule mother pearl pieces depicting pendant blades and flowers, it is exquisite inlaid in a segment of 50 cm long, it has a metal ferule.
