Neoclassic Laurel leaves, gilded Walking stick. France, ca. 1880

This exquisite Napoleon III hook handle is processed in gilded metal and finished with high skills in a beautiful design representing branches of acanthus and laurel leaves on a Neoclassical composition, this work is finished with a layer of 18K gold today worn. There is a monogram in silver with the letters E N intertwined on top. 

It measures 10 cm lengthwise x 8 cm high x 2 cm at its widest, it is on top of a beautiful sound snakewood shaft and finished with a bimetal ferrule. The O.L. is 91 cm and without chips or cracks on the metal or the snakewood, the condition is excellent. It is still a very wearable cane.

In terms of design, the handlebar hook is considered optimal, easy to carry in the hands, it can always be hooked on the fingers and not let it fall, and above all, it can be easily hung from the other arm while keeping your hands busy.
