This Large L-shaped silver handle chased and engraved in very high relief is embellished with a roaring lion enhanced with scrolls and shells, it's design and execution demonstrate better than any other the love for baroque opulence in Vienna during the imperial period, it is 12 cm high x 10 cm lengthwise x 3 cm wide, it displays a series of hallmarks including an Austrian import mark valuable from 1872 until 1900 and other unidentified makers marks as 800 for the precious metal title. It is on top of a wonderful streaked Mahogany shaft of intense natural colour and it finishes with a horn tip. The O.L. is 93 cm.

This cane was carefully used, without chips or cracks, and the condition is perfect.

Notable is that cast figural silver handles were the top of the line of their kind, by far costlier than the standard, moulded production, and the most durables.
